I didn't want to fork out on a Love Island

Dec 29, 2023Dec 29, 2023

WITH Love Island finally back on our TV screens, it's no surprise online searches for fire pits have gone through the roof.

The chic garden accessory is the perfect addition to any outdoor seating area, particularly with our temperamental UK weather.

But if you’re not willing to fork out thousands for a Love Island-style heater, Sifra has shared a savvy alternative - making her own out of a couple of plant pots.

The DIY pro shared a glimpse of how she turned the terracotta bowls into a luxe-looking feature with the help of some spray paint, an old tin can, and ceramic wool.

She said: "Tried this DIY and looove the way it turned out."

During the 32-second reel, Sifra reveals how she went about making her fire pit, first by gluing the base of two terracotta plant pots together.

She then went on to spray paint the entire structure black, before doing the same to a selection of small and medium-sized pebbles.

Then she went on to assemble her fire pit, first placing a stainless steel can in the center of the plant pot, and ceramic wool inside that.

After adding the pebbles around the outside of the tin can, she poured bio-ethanol over the ceramic wool, before carefully lighting it.

Shoppers can pick up similar-style plant pots from various retailers, including B&Q, with prices starting at just £1.30.

Ceramic wool and bio-ethanol are also available to buy online from Amazon, costing as little as £6.89 and £7.49.

Fans loved her savvy idea, with the step-by-step guide on how she did it gaining more than 9,700 likes and 338,300 views.
